VSC-3

The VSC-3 is an HPC system that was installed in summer 2014 at the Arsenal TU building (Objekt 214) in Vienna by Opens external link in new windowClusterVision.

It consists of 2020 nodes, each equipped with 2 processors
(Opens external link in new windowIntel Xeon E5-2650v2, 2.6 GHz, 8 cores from the Opens external link in new windowIvy Bridge-EP family) and internally connected with an Intel QDR-80 dual-link high-speed InfiniBand fabric.

Energy-efficient cooling is,provided by the mineral-oil based CarnotJet System of Opens external link in new windowGreen Revolution Cooling.

VSC-2

The VSC-2 is an HPC system that was installed in May 2011 at the Arsenal TU building (Objekt 214) in Vienna by Opens external link in new windowMEGWARE Computer.

It consists of 1314 nodes, each with 2 processors (AMD Opteron 6132 HE, 2.2 GHz, 8 cores), that are interconnected via QDR InfiniBand.

VSC-1

VSC-1 WILL GO OUT OF SERVICE EARLY IN 2015 AFTER REGULAR USER OPERATION ON VSC-3 HAS STARTED.

The VSC-1 was set up in 2009 with an investment of almost 2 Mio. Euro. It is located in the "Freihaus" (Wiedner Hauptstra├če 8-10) of the Vienna University of Technology and ranked #156 in the November 2009 issue of TOP500 Supercomputing.
